Build your future with robotics, automation, and smart technology.

Robotics & automation are transforming how products are built, tested, and delivered. At MCC, you'll learn how electrical, mechanical, and computer-controlled systems work together to power today's advanced manufacturing environments. Through hands-on labs, team projects, and real-world applications, you'll develop the skills needed to install, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot automated systems.

What You’ll Learn

Across MCC's Robotics & Automation programs, you'll learn how to:

  • Install, operate, and maintain automated manufacturing systems
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and computer-controlled equipment
  • Read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics
  • Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and industrial control systems
  • Apply mechatronic principles to real-world manufacturing processes
  • Use diagnostic tools to identify and repair system malfunctions
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment
  • Collaborate on team-based projects that simulate industry environments

Where Can Robotics & Automation Take You?

Career Services

Modern manufacturers need technicians who can work across multiple technologies—not just electrical or mechanical systems alone. MCC's interdisciplinary approach helps you develop the versatile skills employers need to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve today's automated production systems. MCC’s Robotics & Automation students have built successful careers with leading employers, including Gleason Corporation, L3Harris Technologies, ITT Gould Pumps, Kodak, LiDestri Food & Drink, and Ortho Clinical Diagnostics. Your future job title could be Robotics Technician, Electro-Mechanical Technician, Automated Equipment Technician, Industrial Maintenance Technician, Manufacturing Technician, Controls Technician, Mechatronics Technician, or Production Supervisor.

Need help exploring your options? Our Career Counselors are here to help. We’ll talk about your goals and what training and education are needed. We can also help with researching salaries, wages, and projected job growth.
